Saturday, March 17 2000: Introduction
Page 2 Enjoy (if you're not bored already).
On this page you'll see the culmination of the work I'd been
doing up until about May of 1999. At which time, I called the
work done, and put the image aside for a while.
As an aside,
it might also be a good place to note
that Lightwave modeler is not perhaps the most ideal modeler for this type
of work... While some will swear by it, I begin to have my doubts as to its viability
as an 'Accurate' modeling system. While it does incorporate many powerful features, there
are just too many little "expert workarounds" that one has to be familiar with to make
the Modeler perform as one would think it should.

Tuesday, March 30 1999: Phase 4
At this point, I had gotten an idea of the placement of the various
objects in the scene as well as a general colorscheme and lighting scenario.
Of course there is still quite a ways to go here, the image is starting to
shape up (as are my meger Radiance usage skills) You now is the first time
you can begin to see the power that Radiosity gives to an image!

Tuesday, April 8 1999: Phase 5
Time to kick things into high gear... Models are coming along nicely
materials for various pieces are shaping up.. Here you see the Panel to
the Espresso Machine in a test view (left) and the current progress with shotglass
Espresso Machine main body, and Froth pitcher (right) (Click on Right picture for
larger view)!

April 21 - May 15 1999: Phase 6
during the course of April-May many many many small adjustments, tweaks and
modifications were made to the scene... I probably threw away as many improvements
as I did problems in the image. What resulted is what I would call milestone 1 because
after this point, I pretty much stopped working on this image for quite some time.
LEFT: an Image when I was playing with putting an image on the wall, RIGHT: almost
the final version of the image as of May 15th 99. (Click on it to get a 1600x1100
sized version of it) or if you're really brave, Click

to see a super high res (3200x2200) Fully lit image with High quality and detail
settings as well as Penumbra's (This image took something like 80 hours to render)
on my PII 450 with 128Megs of Ram!
